Beliefs
January 5, 2009

• We accept The Bible as our supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

• We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God as given in the original writings.

• We believe in One God who is in His essence a triune being. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are co-equal persons.

• Jesus Christ, existing in eternity as the Son of God, willingly came into our World, conceived by the Spirit and begotten of the Father, to be born of the Virgin Mary.

• The Holy Spirit is fully God having all the attributes of personhood. He is active today in convicting men of sin, righteousness, judgment, and in empowering the proclamation of God's Word. He gives new life to any person who repents and places faith in Christ's substitutionary death on the Cross.

• We believe that man was created in God's image in a state of untried holiness for fellowship with God, that he sinned, and in so doing incurred the punishment of both physical (although not immediate) and spiritual death (which is separation from God).

• All human beings are born with a sinful nature and we sin in thought, word, and deed.

• Self reformation and good deeds cannot give us back our innocence before God.

• We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ suffered a historic death for our sins according to the Scriptures. All who trust in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.

• We believe that Christ was resurrected and that He ascended back to heaven to assume His rightful position.

• We believe that God has a certain plan for the end of the ages which will include the return of Christ for His Church and a literal 1000 year reign in fulfillment of both Old and New Testament promises.

• We believe that all who place their faith, trust, and hope of right standing with God in Jesus Christ are born again, saved, and are placed into God's family for eternity.

• We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men. Those who have not placed faith in Christ will be dispatched from His presence into an eternal Hell.

• We believe in the existence of a personal devil, the enemy of God. He works with his angels against God in seeking to confuse and distract men in an effort to draw them to himself.

• We believe in The Church, the Body of Christ, whose work it is to represent Him to all mankind.

• We believe that Local Churches are mandated by Scripture as the expression of the Body of Christ in a community.

• We believe that we are to gather for worship, fellowship, prayer and instruction from Scripture.

• We believe that the ordinances of Baptism (by immersion as a testimony of faith) and Communion (which reminds us of Christ's gracious work on the Cross) are to be observed until He returns.
